7th Grade - Scale Diagrams

A scale drawing is reduced or enlarged drawing of an actual object. It is often used to show how various parts of an object should be made and assembled together. Scale maps, which we use routinely, are similar.
The scale factor of a drawing is also known as its scale. A scale is usually expressed as a ratio 1: n of a fraction where 1 unit length on the drawing represents an actual length of n units.
