7th Grade - Sets

In mathematics, we use the term set to mean a collection of well-defined distinct objects. We use set notation to organize, classify, describe and communicate in many branches of mathematics.
We usually denote sets by capital letters. We may describe a set in words.
For Example:
A = {calendar months beginning with letter J}
B = {states in the United States}

Please refer to your textbook to review the different parts of sets we discussed in class today.

Homework: Exercise 16.1 (page 184) # 1 – 4 and 6 – 10
