8th Grade - Analyzing Covid-19 Data

Once you have found a specific area that you would like to focus on, you will chose ONE of the assignment options below:

1. CREATE a bar or line graph that represents the data that you are analyzing. Possible areas of focus might include:

• Testing Available by Zip Codes in New York
• Comparing Positive Tests vs COVID Deaths by Race in New York
• Annual Income of People Reporting Job Loss in the United States
• Technology Access for Students in NYC
• Business in Chinese Restaurants during COVID-19 Pandemic

**Please be sure that your graph includes a title, legend/key and labels on both the x and y-axis

2. FIND a graph that presents data on the unequal protection that is experienced by Americans during the COVID-19 pandemic and WRITE a full analysis of the graph including:

• Why did you choose this graph?
• What makes it important?
• What are the observations and conclusions you have drawn from reading this graph?
• What inequalities does this graph highlight?
• If you were in a position of power to implement change, what steps would you recommend?
